My Story and Experience

I Understand How Hard Fitness Can Be Over 40

I’m over 40 myself, and I know first-hand how much harder it can be to lose weight, build strength, and stay consistent.

My weight has gone up and down over the years, reaching 16 stone at one point. I’ve tried different diets and approaches, so I understand how frustrating it can be when nothing seems to work long term.

I also live with arthritis, which affects how I train and recover. It’s taught me that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to fitness—especially when dealing with long-term conditions, joint pain, or injuries.

That’s why my focus as an online personal trainer is simple:
👉 help you train safely, lose weight, and build strength in a way that works for your body.

Real-World Fitness Experience

Before becoming a coach, I served in the Infantry in the British Army.

Fitness wasn’t optional—it was part of everyday life. Whether training in extreme heat or freezing conditions, we had to stay fit and ready.

During my service, I also went through a major knee operation. That experience gave me a real understanding of knee pain, injury recovery, and the importance of training smart—especially as we get older.

I later qualified as a Mountain Leader, building further experience in endurance, resilience, and physical conditioning in challenging environments.

Training in the Real World (Not Just the Gym)

After the Army, I worked across Europe, Asia, and Africa in the security industry.

In many situations, I didn’t have access to a gym for weeks at a time. I had to rely on bodyweight training, resistance bands, and simple equipment like TRX.

That’s where I developed my approach to fitness:

👉 effective training that works anywhere
👉 simple methods that fit real life
👉 no reliance on perfect conditions

This is the same approach I now use with my clients—whether they train at home, in the gym, or with limited time and equipment.

Coaching, Leadership & Discipline

For over 12 years, I worked with young people in a youth organisation, teaching:

Fitness and physical training

Teamwork and discipline

Resilience and confidence

This experience shaped how I coach today—supportive, structured, and focused on long-term progress.

Leading by Example

I don’t just coach fitness—I live it.

I’ve taken part in running events from 5km up to half marathon distance. In 2020, when events were cancelled, I set myself the challenge of running 21km solo—and completed it in 2 hours 50 minutes.

More recently, I completed the Dartford Half Marathon in September 2024.

I understand how hard it is to stay motivated, especially when you’re training alone or dealing with life’s challenges

raining Smarter as You Get Older

As we get older, our bodies change—and training needs to change with it.

From training in extreme heat while living in Singapore, to adapting workouts around injuries and long-term conditions, I’ve learned one thing:

👉 smart training always beats hard training

Where I Work With Clients

I work with clients primarily through online coaching, supporting people across the UK and beyond.

This allows you to:

Train on your own schedule

Follow a structured plan anywhere

Stay consistent without relying on gym access

My role is to guide you, support you, and keep you progressing

no matter where you train.

Online Coaching Built Around Real Life

Right now, my focus is fully on online coaching—allowing me to support clients wherever they are, without being limited by location or gym access.

This also means I can give more time, attention, and structure to each client.

Whether you train at home, in a gym, or with limited equipment, your plan is built to fit your environment and your lifestyle.

You’ll still get:

Structured, personalised training

Ongoing support and accountability

Guidance tailored to your body and goals

The only difference is—you’re not tied to a gym or a schedule.
